Army IX (1435-NA)
Father: N/A Mother: N/A
Raised by Galvin at Fort Faith at Cyfurrel II's command. Experienced professional soldiers.
Cyfurrel II sends Clyff to Fort Crenhall to follow Gorden and summons Galvin to Imperial Ertund to raise Army IX. Galvin builds Fort Faith to station Army IX.
Cyfurrel II divides his force of 6,000 Lowlands riders into 6 attachments of 1,000. Armies IV, VI, VIII, IX, and X each absorb one attachment of the riders. Jormal's 500 mercenaries merge with the final attachment of riders.
Cyfurrel II dispatches messenger river boats disguised as merchant barges up the Ertund River Basin to Galvin's Army IX at Fort Faith.
Galvin crosses the South Drap with Army IX invading Ertund from the north.
Galvin's Army IX encounters Lord Asroth's initial levied militia and destroys it while securing holds and villages along the South Drap's Ertund coast.
Galvin's Army IX battles Lord Asroth's entire raised army of around 12,000 just 50 miles south of Fort Faith in Ertund. While Army IX wins due to better discipline, equipment, and training, it is at great cost due to being so outnumbered.
Army IX pulls back to Fort Faith.
Army IX, lead by Galvin, thrusts into Ertund heading south east as Army VIII and Hander push east from the Erien.
Troops belonging to lords in Imperial Ertund support Army VIII and Army IX by garrisoning abandoned settlements and forts in their wake.
Army IX reaches the Ertund Mountains quickly, defeating several militia forces on the way.
Army IX encounters and engages a relief army headed to destroy Hander's battered Army VIII. Nearly 8,000 enemy are killed with 2,000 more captured. Galvin takes only 1,500 losses.
Galvin uses Army IX to disrupt enemy troop movements throughout the region while Army IV, lead by Hermoth, captures and holds Drenock Tower.
Galvin, still leading Army IX in Ertund, receives news of his father's death in Donwick.
Galvin moves Army IX to Imperial Ertund and leaves it under Hander Fermothson's command, then travels to Donwick.
Cyfurrel II disbands the auxiliary riders attached to Armies IV,VI,VIII,IX, and X. Jormal's riders, also disbanded, swear allegiance to Jormal in face of the lucrative looting he is conducting in the Ertund River Basin.
Cyfurrel II retires the battered Army VIII. Many of the soldiers elect to join ranks with Army IX, remaining under Hander Fermothson's command.
Hander takes Army IX north to Danfurrel Keep to assist Gernoth's Army III while it enforces the Teshren border.
Hander Fermothson raises an additional 3,000 soldiers out of the Callouse Marshes and South Wood, increasing Army IX and the Danfurrel Keep garrison to 8,000 strong.
