The first Errfulfel Championship is held in Trahbeck. 260 men participate, many former Imperial soldiers, some existing soldiers, and several River Valley nobles (and 6 Durnhall lords). There is a round of three free for all melees with 100, 100, and 60 participants. The last 10 men standing in the 100 man melees and the last 6 men standing in the 60 man melees are promoted to a one on one direct elimination tournament. The top 8 men are paid 18 Myron marks. The top 4 are paid 36 Myron Marks. The top 2 men are paid 80 Myron Marks. The winner is titled Champion of Errfulfel, paid 100 Myron marks, and given land at Champion's Hold. A native of Trahbeck, Gren of Dermith, wins the championship. Gren served in Imperial Ertund from 1408-1412. The participants use woven reed batons as weapons. Two participants die, several are severely wounded.

Kergin, Jamel Swick, and crew work under their captain, Wendyl, as an escort ship for merchant vessels traveling between Ortund, Cantley, and Delco.
Kergin is able to visit Anya and Ilanya in Ortund frequently.

Cyfurrel travels to Greyfield Castle.
Cyfurrel agrees to only mediate the situation between Prince Fenwin and King Hollwick if Jauford Hollwick surrenders Vesop to Fenwin - otherwise he will let them fight it out as they see fit. Cyfurrel stands by his promise to assure the Hollwick line control of Greyfield, but refuses to make any such promise regarding Vesop.
King Hollwick refuses any agreement with Fenwin.
Cyfurrel returns to Errfulfel City.
Wendyl joins his ship with a fleet of three other small escorts.
Fenwin raids a Greyfield winter grain store on the east bank of River Grey.
Many Vesop people turn to Fenwin for support during the winter in face of grain shortages- support he is able to provide.
