Vern is born, son of Rupert and Katria.
Rupert sends his sons to live at the Torreson Casot School.
Fenwin, Erwin, Dreywin, and Vern are taken captive by Lord Almer and help captive at Almer Hall.
Prince Fenwin and his brothers are moved several times throughout the year, avoiding Rupert's raids.
Lord Almer sends his brother, Geroth, with Rupert's sons west for protection.
Geroth and his hostages are captured by Trefel raiders near the Trefel-Greyfield border.
Geroth and Rupert's boys are ransomed back to Lord Almer.
Geroth, Prince Fenwin, and Erwin are captured by Myron II's troops trying to sneak out of Greyfield. Rupert's two other sons, Dreywin and Vern escape with some of Geroth's men.
Lord Almer meets with King Rupert. Almer returns Dreywin and Vern to Rupert.
Lord Almer murders Dreywin, Amber, and Silvan. Vern escapes.
Vern, long lost since 1388, shows up at Fenwin's camp with 300 loyal Vesop woodsmen of good, experienced, warrior stock.
Fenwin and Vern lead their force of 400 out of the Vesop Woods and retake Fort Rupert from the small garrison of Prince Jorge's men.
With resources fading and support scarce, Vern leads Fenwin's men on a last ditch attempt to gain an edge in Vesop in a foray against a Greyfield force commanded by Prince Jorge on the east bank of the River Grey near the Torreson Casot School. Fenwin remains, injured, at Fort Rupert. Vern's 450 men face off against Prince Jorge and 670 men. Vern is ultimately victorious in battle, his Vesop woodsmen carrying the day against Jorge's militia force. Prince Jorge is captured but dies from a wound on the battlefield before ever being presented to Vern.
Vern successfully leads a force to capture the Torreson Casot School.
Vern joins Trefmott's siege, but soon leaves to the south to engage a force buildup near the Greyfield Casot School.
Vern garrisons the Greyfield Casot School to provide repression in the area.
Still in poor health, Prince Fenwin sends his brother Vern in his place to negotiate with King Camder.
Mistaking Vern for Fenwinn, Camder has Vern detained.
When Camder realizes Vern is not Fenwin, and knowing his surprise is spoiled, Camder has Vern tried and executed for the death of his father, Jorge.
