Dornal's Fleet faces a pirate fleet in the Mandal Passages. 6 of 25 warships are sunk. 13 pirate ships are sunk, 6 escape.
Dornal's Fleet sieges Morrn Hold. Two pirate ships escape, 7 are scuttled. The pirates hold out behind fortifications and caves for a month before surrendering to Dornal and Army VIII. Around 100 pirates die during the siege. 1050 pirates are taken captive, 50 are hung on Morrn Hold.
Cam is forced out of power in Greyfield. He is tried by local lords at Greyfield Castle and is charged to abdicate. The smallfolk, unhappy with the lords' ruling, storm Greyfield Castle. Cam is killed.
250 of Dornal's captive pirates are placed under Crenhallson's custody on Crenhall. 50 of them are promptly hung following trial. Another 500 are taken to Trandeck Cliffs and placed into Crenhallson's custody there. The 200 captives on Crenhall are put to work on the island. The 500 captives at Trandeck Cliffs are put to work for the city. The remaining 300 pirates in Dornal's custody (deemed to be the leaders or most influential in the pack, aside from those already executed) are taken inland to Fort Crenhall.
Gorden extracts information of Cyfurrel II's whereabouts from some of the captive pirates sent to Fort Crenhall by Dornal. To the surprise of all, they are lead to believe that Cyfurrel is actually being held over 1000 miles away at South Ertund, possibly in the Muhlfen Woods.
Cyfurrel orders all captive pirates executed. Mass executions take place on Crenhall, at Trandeck Cliffs, and at Fort Crenhall. Other pirates in captivity across the empire are also killed.
Cyfurrel interjects in the Greyfield succession struggle, demanding the issue be solved quickly and without more disruption to the kingdom's operations, stability, and capability to pay tributes and census taxes. The Greyfield lords are unable to trace a line from the original King Hollwick, but coming from Jauford they determine Camder to be the King, but find Mark, Jauford's only living son, the most appropriate ruler in Camder's absence. Next best after Mark they decide to be Erwin or his son Rupert, traced through the marriage to Janess who's mother by marriage is Lelyn, sister to Camder... Mark is made regent of Greyfield.
Yoland is born. Bastard son of the captive Cyfurrel II.
