Fort Gren (1419 - 1442)
Initially constructed by Cyfurrel in 1419 as the primary of many fortifications in west Teshren. A stone keep.
Cyfurrel builds a series of fortifications in west Teshren enabling a few small garrisons to hold most of the region easily. Fort Gren, a stone keep, is the primary holding.
Much of Gren of Dermith's army is disbanded. Gren remains in west Teshren in command of Fort Gren.
Construction of Fort Gren is completed. The keep takes the semi-official name Fort Gren after the commander, Gren of Dermith.
In response to increased rebel activity in the north Callouse Marshes and Teshren region as well as a strong pirate presence threatening the South West Coast and Mandals, Cyfurrel raised two new quality armies: Army I and Army II with 5,000 experienced professional soldiers each. Gren of Dermith is granted control of Army II in Teshren, staging out of Fort Gren and Danfurrel Keep. A veteran professional soldier originally from greyfield named Crenhallson takes Army I to the Valley of Giants and establishes Fort Crenhall.
Cyfurrel initiates a road building program. Errfulfel roads eventually connect Donwick to Greyfield Castle, Greyfield Casot School to Cyfurrel City to Errfulfel City to Champion's Hold to Myron's Seat, Basin's Spout to Fort Gren to Danfurrel Keep to Canfuldel. The main roads are well engineered and wide. Sturdy, massive bridges are built spanning the Trefel River at Greyfield and the Casot River at Champion's Hold and the north South Wood River at Basin's Spout. Many smaller offshoot roads extend from the main road system.
Teshren rebels assassinate Gren of Dermith outside of Fort Gren while visiting a local healer.
Army II is encircled and sieged at Fort Gren by Teshren rebels.
Without proper command or support and under siege at Fort Gren, Army II dissolves.
Fort Gren is captured by Teshren rebels. Much of the fort is destroyed.
